So are you able to help me with South African legal questions?
Hi Jamie! While my expertise is based on U.S. legal information, I can still try to provide general guidance. Could you please tell me a bit more about your legal issue?
i have someone who is wanting to arrest me on charges of animal cruelty and impersonating a vet. They havnt yet arrested me for it but the did arrest me on drug charges. Hoping to keep me in holding cell over the weekend. Then on Monday after appearing in court then rearrest me for the other charges. however they have already released a public statement saying that have arrested me for animal cruelty.

Hey Jamie! It sounds like a very complex situation. Generally, in the U.S., making a public statement about an arrest that hasn't occurred could lead to potential issues, such as defamation. However, since you are in South Africa, the legal nuances might differ.
- Have you been officially charged with the drug-related offenses yet?
- Do you have a legal representative or lawyer to assist you with these charges?
Understanding these details will help to offer more specific guidance.

Im not sure if I have been charged for the drug related stuff ... they took prints but havnt given me a case number. my Dad got a lawyer involved who managed to get me out on bail on friday evening instead of having to sit in the cell for the entire weekend. I dont know if that means that I will have a legal defence from here on out though. My Dad cannot afford it and neither can I thanks to people in the same circles having defamed my character for over a year now already. destroying my income and making my NPC not even able to feed the animals i have reescued. im needing to pay for it out of my own salary.

In the U.S., public defenders are appointed by the court to represent individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. They provide legal representation at no cost to the defendant. Since you're in South Africa, you might have similar options.
