I need advice and legal assistance, I need to get a divorce. My husband left a few weeks ago and filed an order of protection on me. I went to court by myself to fight it because it was absolutely untrue and everything that he said in the statement was not only false but did not even pertain to an order of protection, he talked about me not letting the dog out, the kids hate him, talked about his health and many other things that were not even relevant plus they were false. The judge seemed extremely prejudice against me for some reason, I have no idea why. I want to get that stricken from my record and I need to file from divorce I only make $*,* a year, I have three teenagers at home and one in college, my husband refuses to help in any way with financial assistance

Thank you for sharing, Stephanie. In Minnesota:
- An Order for Protection (OFP) can be contested in court.
- For divorce, you may qualify for a fee waiver if you're low-income.
