Forensic Interview Concerns Georgia

Summary

In Georgia, if you suspect a detective mishandled a child sexual assault case, consider contacting the district attorneys office, filing a complaint with the detective’s supervising officer or Internal Affairs Division, and consulting a family law attorney. Document all communications and evidence. Each county has its own District Attorneys office, so contact the one in your area, such as Gwinnett County. For state-level concerns, reach out to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Draft complaint letters carefully, detailing your concerns and evidence. Officers are generally not permitted to lie about case details, so legal consultation may be necessary.

Hi, my little one had a forensic interview (after the detective assigned to his SA case decided to leave him in the same home as the offending parties for months). I believe my child disclosed the harm done to him and by whom during the interview. However I dont believe the detective when he stated that nothing was disclosed and he would be closing the case based on that. then the detective stated that he was not aware that the child had already named the offenders to medical staff and on video and on drawings. but I did in fact mention those things in an email to the detective earlier in the case that went unaswered. the detective not states that I had ample opportunity to show him more evidence to consider since I had tried to email him. something is very wrong here. what can i do
