Hello, Jennifer! How can I assist you with your legal issue today?
My soon to be mother in law has started messing with my family. She has got us in the process of being evicted from my finances grandfather's trailer and now she has called CPS on us. A case worker showed up the other day. I let her in she was real nice. But at the end she said that my fiance and I had to submit to a drug test in order to close out our case. can they make us take a drug test without any actual evidence or anything substantial showing we are using drugs?? Can they just go on the say of another person, especially when said person is an alcoholic and a drug addict herself!? Please help?!? She gave me 24hours what do we do?
Hello Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. In many jurisdictions, CPS can request a drug test if they have reason to believe you're using drugs. It's not always based on direct evidence. It would be helpful to know your location to provide more specific information.

Hello Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. The Child Protective Services (CPS) can require drug tests if they have reason to believe you're using drugs. This can come from a variety of sources, including a report from a third party. However, the specific laws can vary based on your location. Can you tell me where you are located?
so my fiance and l were just going to go ahead and do the test then I started reading about how they need a court order and blah blah blah. however something have happened this morning that have now made it not possible for me to make it to the place within the 24hiur mark. see I live in a small town outside of Vegas so we have to travel * plus miles to do anything shopping hospital this test etc. my finance works 5 days a week from *-*. she gave us till 3pm today. so I was going to get a ride in with my dad. but my son has been sick all week I was expecting him to go back to school today but when i woke him up this morning, he wasnt feeling good, in fact this was the worst day for him so far, and on top of that my 4 month old has been a acting sick with the same symptoms of my son and he spent his first month in the NICUA so I try not to take him out in public as much but even more so when he's sick and then my dad has heart failure so whenever any of us are sick we don't go around him cause if he get gets sick it's twice a bad and can potentially kill him. So I wouldnt be able to bring my either of my son's in the car with me and i can't leave either of them home alone. and even if my fiancee tried to come pick us up we still wouldn't make it in time. cause it's a 45min drive each way. and then tomorrow we have to be at court for our eviction as soon as he gets off work. and it's just not how I was expecting things to go but theres no way I am able to get a ride and have my kids stay home until the weekebd. what do I do? because I know when you don't do the test they consider it a positive
I understand your situation and it's indeed tough. In Nevada, you could potentially request for an extension due to the circumstances. Contact your CPS caseworker immediately and explain your situation. Document your communication. If you're unable to reach them, try their supervisor.
