Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before providing us with any personal information. By using our services you are agreeing to our use of your information as provided below. If you have any questions or concerns about this Policy, please know that we will handle your requests with care. You may Contact Us at any time to discuss this Privacy Policy.
Unregistered Users are users that visit our Website and have not signed up for an account at our Website for the purpose of using one or more of our services or have not engaged in services at our Website where the user has provided us with personal information. We may log other non-personal information such as the type of internet browser or connection speed. It would be extremely difficult for us to identify users through IP addresses, browser types, or other non-personal information that we collect and we make no attempt to do so.
If users reach our Website by clicking on a link or advertisement on another website, we may log that information as well. We may place a cookie file that allows us to track a user's path through our Website and to detect previous visits and preferences. Users may elect not to accept cookies by changing browser settings; however, by not accepting cookies some or all of the functions of our Website may not work.
Unless the user registers with us, cookies we place will not contain personally identifiable information. We may use cookies to help us understand how visitors use our Website, and to help us to improve our Website. We may also compile this information and use it in the aggregate to determine common themes among our visitors or trends which we can use to improve the service to our users.
Registered Users are users that provide their contact information for the purpose of using one or more of our services. If users choose to register, they may access enhanced services, for example, requests to match users with interested lawyers, access to enhanced profiles for lawyers and law firms, opportunities to post or respond to legal questions, download legal forms, and other services. Registered users can receive notification of new services or changes in services.
If you register with us, we may collect personal information you enter into our forms or provide to third-party partners offering our services. We may also collect personal information during phone calls with users requesting assistance or in conversations about our services. Phone conversations and other communications may be recorded for quality assurance, representative training and machine learning analyses.
Such personal information may include information about a lawyer profile, user names, email addresses, passwords, mailing addresses, telephone numbers, case descriptions, practice specialties, and other information. The information we collect may vary. We may store some of this information such as the login user name on the user's computer so that our system will recognize the user each time they visit our Website. In that way, we can save user preferences between visits and provide customized experiences each visit. If credit card information is entered into our secure payment page we will use a secure connection to retrieve this information and pass it on to our authorized secure payment processor. Our servers do not store credit card numbers unless users elect to provide billing information outside of our secure payment page.
If users reach our Website through one of our partners and choose to register with us, we may be required to give our partner the user's registration information.
To improve services and enhance personalization, we may periodically obtain information about users from other independent third-party sources and add it to their registration information. Users always have the ability to remove any information about themselves on our Website. Authorized personnel may update user registration information to accurately reflect any new information included in communications received from the user.
One benefit of lawyers providing our directory with personal information is that we make it easier for Internet searchers to see this information in lawyer profiles and learn about lawyers' backgrounds, specialties and other information provided by lawyers. Registering and providing personal information allows users to customize our services so they are more useful to users and to provide other visitors to our site with an enhanced profile of lawyers and law firms. It also allows lawyers to log in to our Website automatically, rather than manually typing in usernames and passwords each visit, although this may not always be the case. We may use aggregate user information to improve our services and develop new products based on statistical analysis or machine learning and other artificial intelligence algorithms. We may use personal information to periodically contact users with news or important information, to provide other information or invitations related to your membership, and to request your feedback on our services. In addition to these periodic updates, we may email you additional marketing materials. These might include newsletters and partner offers. By using the Website, users consent to receive emails from the Company.
