i am to split a residual estate with another person. I recieved correspondence from the executor. it has the amount of an initial payout for next month. i do not know if that payout is my full total or if i should split that payout in half due to having to split it
Hi Nancy,
To clarify your situation better, could you please let me know if the correspondence from the executor specifies that the amount is to be split between you and the other person, or if it indicates that the amount is your share alone?
Thank you!
that's what i'm asking you
Hi Nancy,
If the correspondence is unclear, I recommend asking the executor directly for clarification. Executors should provide detailed information regarding the distribution of the estate. You might also review the will, as it should specify how the residual estate is to be divided.
Is there anything specific in the correspondence that might help clarify this for you?
the expecutor and i do not speakl
Hi Nancy,
If you and the executor do not communicate, consider these steps:
- Review the will for specific distribution details.
- Seek assistance from a probate attorney for clarification.
- Contact the probate court handling the estate for guidance.
