Vehicle Dispute Legal Options
Summary
If someone refuses to return your vehicle after a trade, you can file a theft report with the local police, consider a civil lawsuit for recovery, and consult a local attorney. over a pickup truck of mine I its a * Chevy Silverado ... Ok I traded a guy up the road from me for a * Nissan frontier because the Silverado was broke down at the time and I could not afford to fix it ... Ok so I did not have the title yet for the Silverado I had a rebuilt title on it ..... When I bought the truck that what I got with it so when I tried to tag it they said tag ppl said that it had to be inspected be the DMV before I could get the title sent off and get it sent back to me in my name ..... Ok so I went and got a title bond on the truck in my name so I could at least get tags for it and drive it.... Well a little time goes by the truck breaks down on me I didn't have money to fix it so this guy up the road wanted to trade me another vehicle for it .... We winded up trading vehicles ok and he gave me a * Nissan frontier and * cash for my * Chevy Silverado... .... Long story short I winded up going to prison for 2 years oh and let me say this this guy that traded me vehicles very much knew the truck had to be inspected before I could get a title back for it in my name so we traded I wrote a bill of sale basically stating what we were doing and we traded .... Ok my ole lady at the time had me locked up and violated my parole so I had to do two more years in prison .... Now she has the Nissan truck I traded for and I was affreaid she was gonna tear it up or get rid of it so I called the guy that traded me the truck cause the truck was still in his name and I asked him to please go get it before she tore or sold it..... So he took the law and went and took the truck from her.... Ok I finally get out here out of prison now this guy has done went and got a title bond on the Silverado and he also has the frontier and he's basically telling me he's not gonna give me either vehicle .... What can I do.... I still have all my paperwork on my Silverado
