I have some questions about a child custpdy case
Hi Bridgett, I'd be happy to help. Can you please provide more details about your child custody case? This will help me give you the most accurate information. For example, are you seeking information on how to file for custody, modify an existing order, or something else?
I have two cases where DHR has been involved with * children. Both children have different fathers. One father is uninvolved and no paternity established, but I have some questions about my legal rights in the case, and some questions about legalities on some of the things that have been done by DHR workers involved in the cases,
Hi Bridgett,
I can provide some general information regarding your legal rights and the involvement of DHR.
- As a parent, you have the right to be informed of and involved in decisions regarding your children.
- You have the right to a fair and impartial investigation by DHR.
- You can contest any actions or decisions made by DHR in court.
Could you please specify the actions or decisions by DHR that you're concerned about?
DHR gave the father of one child all the paperwork in the seperate case and hes using it against me in court. The paperwork contains some personal/private/and medical info. Are they allowed to do this?
Hi Bridgett,
Here are some points regarding your situation:
- Generally, DHR should not disclose personal, private, or medical information without proper consent.
- Alabama law protects the confidentiality of such records.
- You might consider filing a motion to seal those documents or request a protective order.
Have you discussed this issue with your attorney or considered consulting one?
