Custody And Visitation Rights

Summary

Sole physical custody means the child lives with you full time, while joint legal custody means both parents make important decisions. If the father has zero overnights and visitation is as agreed, he can visit only when you both agree. In Michigan, only a court can change custody arrangements. If he takes the child without your consent, it may be classified as parental kidnapping. Consult a lawyer for advice on changing custody arrangements.

I have a question my son is 8 years old and last time we went to court was when he was 6 months old paper say I have sole physical custody and the parties have joint legal custody what does this mean? Do I have custody of the child? It also says father has * over nights and other times as parties agree. So he has zero over nights do I have to allow him to come over then?
As per your situation:

- Joint legal custody indicates both parents have a say in important decisions about the child's life.

Note: Individual state laws may vary. Can you tell me your location for more specific information?

Ok thanks. Hes the one that wants weekends I haven't went to court bc well I have him in my care */* never left my side in 8 years so I told him to file. So I'm fine with not allowing him over and not allowing my child to go over there I won't face any legal trouble? We went to court once they know he's on disability.
As per Michigan law, you have the right to deny him visitation if it's not specifically granted in your custody agreement. However, it's best to consult a lawyer for specific legal advice in your situation.
Ok thanks
