yes! So I worked for Amazon in their warehouse for nearly 3 years, never had an issue, loved my job honestly! I changed departments in * and my managers started treating me horribly, I had a few cases of other employees sexually harassing me and my managers and supervisors acted annoyed when I was trying to express genuine concern and fear, he was not fired or even moved from the department or even separated or kept away from me after everything, and that same year I got into a car accident and injured my spine and a lot of muscles in my back, I had papers from doctors and chiropractors telling my supervisors that I couldn’t lift more than 25lbs while I’m healing, and that I needed to work slowly, I asked to go to her and show these papers and my managers told me to rip them up and toss them that hr won’t even look at it. I went to hr anyway after being advised to not go, and they did not care, did not want to see the papers. Shortly after this I have at least */* coworkers that witnessed this incident happening, one of my managers took me and nanother co worker and put us in a hot truck, in a department we literally did not work in have never been in, in order to “teach us a lesson about working slow” direct quote. It was over * degrees that day in Connecticut and they did not let me and the other coworker gave water, they barely directed us on what to even do in these trucks and had us climbing insane heights with no safety equipment to literally throw *+ pound boxes off the truck. My co worker almost passed out!!! We were in there for */* hours!!! It was like that from the minute I tried to speak with my managers about my injures and ask for accommodation!!! I was pushed to quit! I worked there for years and never had any performance issues ever until those last 3 months. This happened last year between may and august. I quit in august and I ended up losing my home and had to move back *+ miles in with my parents
Did you file a complaint with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) or any other agency about this issue?

In Connecticut, you have the right to a safe and harassment-free workplace. If violated, you can file a complaint with CHRO.
No I didn’t know I needed to
You should consider filing a complaint with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO). Their contact details are: * Columbus Blvd, Suite *, Hartford, CT *, Phone: *-*-*.
what else can I do as well?
You may also consider contacting an employment attorney for advice. They can guide you on potential legal actions you can take against your former employer.
Does this sound like a legitimate case? Should I honestly go through with contacting a lawyer
Yes, it does sound like a legitimate case. You should definitely consider contacting an employment attorney to discuss your options further.
or would it be a waste of my time?
It's not a waste of time. Your rights as an employee seem to have been violated. An employment attorney can provide you with the best course of action.
okay thanks so much, just one more question
Of course, Jamaka. What's your final question?
If it’s been more than a year since that happened to me, is there a statue of limitation on what has happened?
In Connecticut, the statute of limitations for filing a complaint with the CHRO is 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination. However, for a civil lawsuit, it's generally 2 years.
One more question if that’s alright!
Of course, it's alright. What's your next question?
What exact type of lawyer should I reach out to? Sorry I don’t have too much experience with legal matters
You should reach out to an employment lawyer. They specialize in workplace issues like harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination.
is it still a case if I quit? I was genuinely pretty much bullied into quitting
Yes, it can still be a case. Constructive dismissal, where an employee is forced to quit due to intolerable conditions, can be grounds for legal action.
thanks again!!!!! Would you happen to know of any good employment lawyers in the state of ct?
I'm sorry, but as a legal information provider, I can't recommend specific lawyers. However, you can use the Connecticut Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service at (*) *-*.
