I went on a leave of absence at work and then my leave ended last week and I didn’t get cleared on time to return and they let me go from my department and still have me employed by the hospital and I have a housing authority who pays half of my rent and now I’m unable to pay my half. I have a letter from Human Resources that said I was on leave and that I didn’t get cleared to return and that I’m applying for part time but I don’t want the housing authority to know I went on leave because I don’t want them to take away my housing assistance and they wanted a letter from Human Resources saying I was let go and what date but the hospital is trying to say that I wasn’t let go but I don’t have my position in my department. I’m trying to figure out how to move forward and what to tell the housing authority
I'm sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds complicated. To better understand and help, could you clarify whether you are currently employed by the hospital in any capacity, even if it's not in your previous department?
Yes they said I’m still employed by the hospital but not the department and I don’t know what to tell the housing authority since she wants a letter
It sounds like you need a clear letter from Human Resources that accurately reflects your current employment status. You might consider requesting the following information in the letter:
- Confirmation that you are still employed by the hospital.
- Explanation that you are no longer in your previous department.
- Clarification on your current employment status (e.g., applying for part-time work).
