You're welcome! If you need more assistance or have any other legal questions, feel free to ask.
If there was actually any form of legitimate regulation to this industry, then how is it that all of the service providers are able to price gouge in the uninhibited fashion that they are currently doing? You advised me to file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance, yet upon further reflection, there is no way that they could have all managed to arrive at the same amount of rate increase without some industry-wide collusion to triple their rates overnight and implement it without collusion from the government.
While it may seem like industry-wide collusion, it's also possible that insurance companies are reacting to similar market conditions. However, if you suspect collusion, you can file a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's office. They investigate claims of business practices that violate the state's Antitrust Act.
I have filed similar complaints with the IAG in the past that go absolutely nowhere. They do what they do best; ignore you until they frustrate you into submission. They are the government that doesn't serve the people. Only their corporate overlords!!
I understand your frustration. If you believe the Illinois Attorney General's office isn't adequately addressing your complaints, you may consider contacting your local representative or seeking legal advice from a private attorney. Legal aid societies may also offer assistance.
Yeah. Whatever!
I'm sorry to hear about your frustrations. If you're open to it, you might consider reaching out to a consumer advocacy group. They often have resources to help individuals navigate these kinds of issues.
