City Lien Dispute Resolution

Summary

In California, property liens can arise from unpaid debts or program violations. Miscommunication during refinancing can complicate matters. To address a lien from a government entity, gather all relevant documents, file a formal complaint with the San Mateo City Council, and consider legal counsel specializing in property disputes. If local complaints are rejected, appeal to higher authorities or seek assistance from legal aid organizations. For federal concerns, contact your local congressional representative or HUD.
