I’m facing eviction due to the fact that I had to sell my home to keep it from going into judicial foreclosure auction. I was told to leave by March * but due to being disabled and not having an income I was an enable to secure housing. I’ve had to stay. The new owners have started the eviction process. They did not serve me a summons, but told the court they tried. I went down today and found out the judge, signed off on them being able to do a notification in the newspaper. I just noticed that they’re gonna be sending me certified letter with the summons this week. How long after receiving the certified letter do I have to respond?

I was told that if I receive it by mail, I have 15 days after. I’m gonna be going down tomorrow and having an advocate help me fill out the response paperwork to submit this week just in case.
That's a great move, ****. Ensure you submit your response within the 15 days to protect your rights. You can also seek further advice from the advocate. Remember, this advice is for guidance and shouldn't replace a lawyer's advice.
I’m working with various agencies. My choices are limited, but I’m hoping to have my housing secured as I am now on SSDI and with the stable income. This way, I won’t have an eviction on my record.
