I'm currently under a Lease Purchase Option Agreement with my Landlord. I was served forclosure papers because my Landlords mortgage is in default and he hasn't paid on his mortgage since 2 years before we even signed the agreement. I have already applied for a Mortgage through my personal bank but it's still processing. My landlord is now claiming the forclosure notice is fake but I've contact the sheriff's office who served me the papers and they are very real. I'm also now under suspicion that he never notified his mortgage lender that he was going to be renting to purchase with me with the possibility that our lease was never written up by a lawyer like he had told me it was. Also I have proof he knew the home was going to be put in forclosure before our agreement and he never disclosed that information before we signed the agreement. What are my rights as a tenant in Pa? Also is what he's done illegal?
