I would like for the speeding ticket to not affect my insurance record at all. How can i do that?
To prevent the ticket from affecting your insurance, you can:
- Attend Traffic School. California allows this once every 18 months.
- Dispute the ticket in court. If you win, it won't be on your record.
Remember, each insurance company has its own policy regarding traffic violations.

If i do the traffic school, does it not show a mark on my insurance at all?
In California, if you complete a traffic school course, the conviction will remain confidential and not increase your insurance premium. However, it's always best to check with your insurance policy to be sure.
Is it safe to try to appear to my court date as it’s my first ever experience or rather do the traffic school?
It's generally safe to appear in court, especially for a minor traffic offense. However, traffic school is an easier option and keeps the ticket confidential. Ultimately, the choice is yours.
If i was to do the traffic school option i would still have to pay a fee correct?
Yes, you would typically still need to pay a fee for traffic school in addition to your fine. The cost varies depending on the course provider.
