Unauthorized Roofer Client Authorization
Full Conversation
I signed a client authorization form for a roofer and now I am no longer comfortable working with him.
What specific terms are outlined in the client authorization form you signed?
That he would do our roofer work and contact our insurance company for us.
What made you uncomfortable continuing the work with the roofer?
The quote he gave us was incorrect and not completely filled out.
Did you sign a contract with the roofer or was it just the client authorization form?
It was a client authorization form for the roofing company he works with
Did you pay any advance to the roofer or the roofing company?
No
What is the cancellation policy mentioned in the client authorization form?
It would have had to been the third day to cancel it with no charge. Otherwise a $* fee or *% of the claim value.
What is the current date and when did you sign the client authorization form?
In North Carolina, contracts can generally be cancelled within three days. However, specific terms may apply.

I signed the form on */*/*
What is the date today? This will help us determine if you are still within the cancellation period.
*/*/*
Since you signed the form on */*/* and today is */*/*, you are outside the *-day cancellation period. You may be liable for the cancellation fee as per the form's terms.
Is there anyway to get out of the forms terms?
Did the roofer or the roofing company provide you with a copy of the signed form?
Yes
What specific inaccuracies are there in the quote provided by the roofer?
The quote states the entire cost is for shingles that will cost $*,*.*. Everything else in the quote is set to $*
Did the roofer provide a reason for why all other costs were set to $* in the quote?
No. That is the quote he sent when we asked for one.
Did you discuss the inaccuracies with the roofer or the roofing company?
Yes, he states that since we signed the form, he will be the roofer to fix our issue
What was the response of the roofer or the roofing company when you discussed the inaccuracies in the quote?
He is ignoring our issues with it
What steps have you taken to resolve this issue with the roofer or the roofing company?
We've just spoke with our roofer to try to work it out.
What was the outcome of your conversation with the roofer?
Nothing. We've not received a new quote and he has stopped responding to our texts.
