I signed a purchase agreement for a car in Washington State back in December, and have had no correspondence with the bank the dealership supposedly secured financing through. I just spoke to someone today at the dealership that there was administrative error and that I would need to come in to resign the paperwork and basically reapply for financing. Am i correct in my assumption that I am no longer responsible for this finance agreement under protections of the Consumer Protection Act?
Hey ****, it sounds like a tricky situation. Generally, if the financing agreement wasn't executed due to an administrative error, you might not be bound by it. However, it's essential to review the specifics of the agreement. You might consider consulting a local attorney to review your options under Washington State's Consumer Protection Act.
Okay, how do I do that?
To consult a local attorney in Washington, you can:
- Search for consumer protection or contract law attorneys online.
- Contact the Washington State Bar Association for referrals.
- Consider free legal aid services if you qualify.
