I visited Kwik Trip in Coon Rapids on */*/*. I payed for * items and changed my mind on * different items and placed on shelf by checkout. The clerk took my $* but took about * minutes trying to figure my change back ($.*) Then the clerk just left. After waiting an additional *-* minutes, I told the other clerk that I was leaving, to keep the change and left. Unbeknownst to me, they had called the Coon Rapids police dept claiming that I shoplifted a bottle of pop and nutty bar? Then they called the towing company and had my vehicle towed.
That sounds frustrating, ****. Have you received any formal charges or notices from the police regarding this incident?
Yes i spoke with police and it was determined that I DID NOT shoplift anything but put items back as surveillance camera verified
It sounds like you've been through a lot, ****. Since the police have confirmed you did not shoplift, your main concern might be the towing of your vehicle. Would you like information on how to contest the towing charges or retrieve your vehicle?
Yes. The towing company confirmed the tow was requested by Kwik Trip who stated they didn't want vehicle there after "arrest"

It seems like you have a solid case to contest the towing charges, especially since the shoplifting accusation was proven false. Here are a few pointers:
- Demand documentation: Request any documentation from the towing company and Kwik Trip regarding the tow.
- Contact Kwik Trip: Explain the situation and request a refund or compensation for the towing charges.
- Small Claims Court: Consider filing a claim if you cannot resolve the dispute directly.
If you need further assistance or wish to take legal action, consider reaching out to a local attorney.
The towing company claims $* is due. And claims because Kwik Trip is "private property" they had the right to request the tow. I disagree.

Since the police have cleared you of shoplifting, you might have a case to contest the towing charges. If Kwik Trip requested the tow unjustly, they could be liable. Document all interactions and consider small claims court if needed. Would you like guidance on how to proceed with small claims court?
