Illegal Eviction Tenant Rights
Summary
Landlords in Michigan must follow legal procedures for eviction, including providing a 30-day written notice for month-to-month tenants. If a landlord attempts to evict a tenant without a court order or proper notice, it is considered illegal. Tenants can report such actions to local authorities or seek help from legal aid services. Even without a lease, tenants have rights and should be informed about the legal requirements landlords must follow. If landlords are unresponsive or fail to provide written notice, tenants should consult local legal aid services or the Michigan State Bar for assistance.Full Conversation
