I would like to know if i have a case or not. A couple years ago I went 5 days without sleeping. I believe I had a stroke I was hallucinating. I was definitely pretty far out of it but nothing that couldn't be explained by severe sleep deprivation. I told them how long I had been awake. I begged them to knock me out or give me something to let me sleep just for a couple hours. I told them I thought I had a stroke. They told me I needed to go to a psychiatric hospital. I refused. They ended up handcuffing me to a bed and leaving me in a dark room for * hours. Then a police officer drove me to a mental hospital * hours away. I was there for 4 days and I am still traumatized.. that place was hell on earth and the things that happened there are unbelievable. I am still struggling.. that nurse ruined my life. When I got home (we had no mirrors in the nut house) one of my eyes was severely drooping and I do believe I had a stroke (no one scanned me even though I complained about it several times and told them I had already had a TIA and I was bound to have a stroke). I was treated like an animal.. worse than. I was treated like a criminal when I came in for medical help.. it changed me.. it made me so afraid to go to the hospital that I lived with appendicitis for over a year. I can't work.. and I am so depressed and so afraid.. it was so easy to have all of my rights taken from me and to be locked up when I did nothing wrong and I dont know how they sleep at night but it's not right. If they had just given me a sleeping pill or made any kind of attempt to let me sleep i would have been fine and they probably even knew that, sleep deprivation after that many days causes some crazy side effects and its borderline common knowledge but doctors and nurses should definitely have known.. i feel like they have ruined my life.. ive been dealing with an existential crisis ever since..

It might be over 2 years.. i havent come forward because i have been afraid of being called crazy and being put back in that place.. would it be void after 2 years?
In Virginia, the two-year statute of limitations for medical malpractice claims can sometimes be extended under certain circumstances. Please consult a local attorney to understand if your case qualifies for an extension. They can help you navigate the time limits.
